I made one half decent stick man fight scene.
I think it ended with grey guy jumping on black guys head and snapping his neck by twisting his legs, the he jumped off the now dead guy and did a front flip and landed just as dead guy fell

That took me several weeks to animate...

The heck's stick fighting? Quarterstaff duels or something?

Probably Eskrima sticks?

Yes, like that, except I'm not a dreamy edgy bad-boy borderline psychopath.

Playing through Deus Ex:HR again because I figured this time I'd do it with the DLC (I didn't, by the way. The small amount of effort required to get it to work is just too damn much) and I realised that on the manufacturing plant you can backtrack after SWAT clears the place and have a look at how they deal with the scene. Mostly they're milling about investigating stuff, photographing important scenes, some special dialogue for the ones investigating where the hacker was. But one single SWAT person's dialogue made me giggle like a moron for whatever reason. He told me that they'd experienced much less resistance than expected, and asked if I had "any idea how they all got knocked out".
Deus Ex attention to stupid detail strikes again.

I don't know, he gets fuzzy on occasion. He certainly lacks Batman's pathological commitment to the code.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't some eskrima learning places basicaly teach [Misc_Object User]?
I read somewhere that eskrima can be used to teach you how to use basicaly anything you hold with your hand into a melee weapon, ok things that make sense to use as weapons: glass bottles, hammers, hatchets, misc wooden sticks, metal pipes, knives, etc...
It's also apparently really good at training your off hand.

There's only a certain amount of ways you can swing something at someone. They tend to overlap.

That's about what my instructor said, yes.

Ya but other fields of fighting tend to teach things that only pertain to that weapon
Like learning how to use a spear you won't tend to learn how to do more than stab, learning how to use and axe you will learn the exact opposite
But eskrima IIRC just teach show to strike, with no specifications on how. Though I don't think there is much stabbing when training with batons, I think that's more for the knives section and I don't think all schools train that

((Note: I have not learned how to fight eskrima, I just did a bit of research and thought it was quite cool))

Me neither. When he said stick fighting I thought he meant poles. But escrima is indeed cool.
