Got an invite for a job interview (freelancing still, I was found for the job, I didn't find it). Simple enough job, (my, not their) hourly pay rate, not a (or their) fixed-pay, and if I estimated the workload and potential time it would take overall,
KACHING! Merry Christmas, I can pay my bills, and stockpile for the next month's bills while at it.
Provided I can find more work to cram into my weeks, I should start turning a profit soon enough (hell, it keeps up for the whole month, I'm good enough); but first,
"I really need this job. Please God, I need this job. I've got to get this job.". I get enough work soon enough, I should be able to afford gifts for at least the kids this year. Late-Christmas gifts if need be.

I got the job. I start work tomorrow. HUZZAH! Contract is 1-3 months long (or possibly longer, since it's an ongoing one as well), and is an on-call/as-needed job. Already heard their terms of what they already have and what to expect for the first month and the following weeks; next months are TBA. First days are to collect some details/benchmarks, so I can better see what the future looks like with this. But I can already start paying my bills *cough*and Steam sales*cough* again on my first collections. That alone is happy material.
Beauty of this, I work on *mostly* my terms and pace. Mostly, because, naturally, it's also within the client's expectations, so I can't dilly-dally (plus, it's in bad form/practice to run out an hourly rate clock.).
No fuel cost to get to work, I have access to my computer, music, TV, etc. at my workplace, I can take a break (time/method) as I see fit. I always look forward to lunchtime (no more gas station sandwiches and fast food for me). And I don't have permanent work, so job variety and satisfaction is to my whims and on my terms.
My boss is also awesome and rather fair. I missed freelancing.
