Eh, the update seems to have injected new material. Spot-on parody of MMOs, really. That, and it apparently woodpecker-descended elves.

On the contrary, it has layers of jokes. The most immediate is the obvious "it's a parody of bad video games." Under that is the layer of cultural reference jokes. Then under that is the realization that it actually isn't half bad as a classic exploration game, hiding a massive amount of stuff in nooks and crannies for you to only find hours later. Then your brain goes back to remembering 1, and makes the entire thing even more hilarious because they actually managed to hide a reasonably entertaining game under that initial surface parody.

It could be made into a top whatever number list on some website, which is endlessly copied by other sites, linked on Tumblr and endlessly reblogged, and eventually linked on Facebook, to be endlessly shared.

If the Goat Sim guys actually made a proper exploration game, I would be more interested. As it stands, I can't put up with the pretentious goat bollocks and enjoy a serious game at the same time.
