Uh heheh. Idaho. We're nearing winter and I'm in a college town so that's why I found a pole by the dumpster. wasteful kids.

But there's a few reservoirs nearby that are fun to fish and there's always the snake river to take this dinky little pole down to, to have a fun little fight with some real scrappy one to two pound smallmouth bass.

I found a fishing pole out by a dumpster it's in totally awesome condition and would make a perfect panfishing pole!

Of course, there's the fact that there's no reel, but that's easily remedied.

So how does one calibrate that? The only way I can think of is waiting for an eclipse and then setting the dials. The original must have taken years to get right then, since I imagine the actual computey components wouldn't have been right on the first attempt.

They could use the previous recorded eclipse.
And I think that seeing that the technology got sunk and lost to the ages, it never saw much field testing.
