Kind of? I think Pathfinder was meant to address some of the problems of 3.5. Never used it, though, so... did think of making a 13th Age game, but decided I wanted something completely of my own creation.

Monks do suck, because they aren't proficient with their own fists, are built like "strike first and strike hardest guys" but only have a d8 hit die, and have insane MAD. (STR so you can hit, DEX for initiative and ranged, CON for HP, INT for skillpoints, WIS for class features, CHA not so much.)

Anyhow, I noticed that I can preload Civ:BE now, so I'm doing that.

Actually, a first level monk becomes proficient with unarmed attacks by gaining the Improved Unarmed Strike feat. Not to say  that monks are excellent, but you can definitely make a good one. (Especially with feats that reduce MAD. Weapon Finesse to use DEX for to-hit, Zen Archery lets you use WIS for ranged attacks, being human gives you plenty of skill points, etc)

So I was at a sketchmeet tonight, it was fun and all. But that's the usual Thursday sketchmeet happy, this time tho there was something more. In the small caffe we were in there was also this english/irish/scottish (couldn't really pinpoint the accent) gentlman reading his book and drinking wine (quite a bit). We offered him some cookies we brought for shits and giggles ( a friend was rather intrigued by him for some reason) but he politely declined. After a while he got interested in our sketching and approached us, as I was the closest he looked at my stuff and quite liked the SF mechs and whatnot, said it reminded him of Star Wars, the big AT-AT (he had the funniest way of pronouncing this) walkers. So he offered to buy us drinks, I accepted and got another tea. And in order to repay him I drew him a small SW scene of some iconic stuff just strolling about the scenery, he quite liked it and insisted I slap a big signature on it

So yeah, I got tea in exchange for a drawing
