That explains quite a lot, really, that last bit.

Personally I like trains because they're giant fucking metal machines that we conquered the world with before we even knew what oil was for. They shifted entire continents and economies basically over-night, and were the first modern majorly impacting paradigm shift.

They're basically a revolution inside a cylinder of steel and coal. Just add water.

So excited for the commercial version of the Oculous Rift.
Was reading some articles on it today, including two about horror games. The first was saying how much he disliked them with it on because it was just so bloody scary and terrifying. The second was talking about testing a single short game. He said he contemplated ripping it off because it was so scary, and that later the person running it said that "people rip it off and run out of the room screaming".
Both are awesome, and say some pretty impressive things about the immersive power it will have. Not that I will probably be playing many of these horror games because I don't feel like shitting my pants, but the power of the technology still amazes me.

It seems mean to take it out on the kid try and trick the parent into wearing it

Train simulator sounds kind of fun, to me, at least if the graphics and sound were good.
If they weren't good, well, maybe you can spy on your passengers through the security cameras, and give sternly-worded warnings if you see some evil bastard with their feet up on the seat, or gods forbid eating a sandwich? That could be entertaining. Especially if it's text-to-speech for added hilarity. Oh and maybe your passengers are actually characters in an MMO played by real people, trying to fast-travel from one area of the gameworld to another.

...Hrm. Maybe that's not particularly viable.
How about a train sim set in the days of Jesse James, with historical accuracy taking a backseat to banditos and badassery? :D

Oh yeah. That would be cool.

Sadly, from what I've seen of Train Sim, there is exactly one passenger, sitting in exactly the same position, in every single car.

I don't go on trains often enough to like them.

Then again I also don't like horses and apparently it's a thing to like horses.

I've always liked riding trains, never considered a career driving them, though. :P
I'm sure it's a lot harder than it looks. Me working as a train driver sounds like the beginning of an action-thriller starring Denzel Washington.
