I've been working on this project for three days, and something has finally gone right the first time I tried it. Everything else bar one has taken between one and two hours of research to make work. Progress!

Reading a book called Mr Wakefield's Crusade, and it is bloody brilliant.
Almost every page has me smiling broadly as I read it, and I've laughed out loud several times so far. It may have something to do with how strongly I can relate to the main character (and narrator), but regardless it's a very well-written book.

Unity is so much easier to use than UDK, if only because I could apply a bump map without needing to consult a wiki.
