Reflecting on the good times I had as a kid with one of my oldest friend's family, pretty soon after my parents got divorced and moving constantly and shit. Man I really needed that as a kid.

Was tempted to tell myself they're my best memories, but then I thought more on it and realized I had a lot of other cherished ones too. And that I'm fairly lucky in that regard.

I'm pretty sure they just thought that was a cool character and left out the whole child of Loki thing because it would be very squicky to modern audiences.

Marvel's Loki doesn't appear to be a shapeshifter, just capable of using illusion magic/alien hologram tech.  Of course, Marvel's Loki is a frost giant and somehow seems physically identical to the Asgardians in most respects, but I think that's more the writers forgetting/selectively ignoring that part of his character.  Listen to his whole "the humans think us immortal" line to Thor in Avengers; that makes no sense considering they're supposed to be two separate species.
