I think it's association came about from from the impossible MIDI piano YouTube vids, the most popular of one misattributed it, hence why it's called 'death waltz'. Hell, the same song is called the 'McRoll' for similar reasons

I was expecting Stump. Also, I recognised the other one as Touhou despite having heard one other piece of music from it. I don't know how I did that.

I almost beat that stage once, back when I was playing 6 exclusively for about a year. :P

There are literally hours of that theme in remixes of every style you could want; it's one of the more popular Touhou themes. Just be careful: Touhou has some really powerful earworms. I once had that one stuck in my head for an entire week after listening to too much of it.
