I completed Pokemon X finally.
The difficulty is really underwhelming. I mean, I know it's meant for kids, but I'm thinking the very last guy you fight shouldn't have just 3 pokemon that can be one-shotted without even having to switch...
After Wonder Trading away all my valuable pokemon, I deleted my save and now I'm starting over, this time with harsher self-imposed restrictions.
-No using the pokemarts for anything. Every item will have to be found.
-I'm not allowed to catch pokemon, with only 2 exceptions. Four pokemon are given to you for free throughout the course of the game, and I'm allowing myself to catch one pokemon to enable Wonder Trading right at the start, and I'm allowing myself to Master Ball the Legendary, for a total of a six pokemon team that I'll complete the game with.
-All pokemon that come into my possession will be Wonder Traded away for a random one that is equal or weaker in strength to the one I'm trading. If I get a stronger gamebreaking one, it'll get WT'd again for another. My Final Six at the end will be a completely random assortment decided by strangers.
While my randomized challenge can give me any assortment of pokemon, I'm mentally prepared to tackle the Elite Four with a team of Bunnelbies and Fletchlings.
So my little challenge is going bizarrely swimmingly. After being the third gym, I now have 5 legit pokemon in my party obtained through Wonder Trades. A Charizard (seriously, I gave the guy a bulbasaur, got a Charmander) a Pigeot, a Tirtouga (now a carracosta), and I just got two more, a metapod and a cubone.
I was expecting this to be completely lopsided, but my bizarre luck is just giving me this weirdly balanced and organized roster. Wow, way to be really cool guys, Mr. RandomPeopleOverTheInternet. Thanks for not giving me a lineup of Weedles and Fletchlings. Now I just need to wait for the very last one, I wonder what it'll be.
