Despite the inconvenience of working this weekend after working all week (and a particularly annoying client for a good chunk of it), at least I got overtime pay. Of course, that's going to mostly be spent enjoying a belated birthday party day tomorrow (going to Dave & Busters with my sisters and dad). Speaking of which, I got a pretty nifty flask with a monogram engraving on it as a belated gift to me. Now to figure out what booze to put in it.

I'm getting close to finding a good gift for my nephew's first birthday.

What would you guys rather be, a lord in Scotland, or a lord in Sealand?

I live in Scotland, so I'm pretty sure being a lord here would actually Benefit me, so the Scotland one.

That is pretty good :D

And yeah, Scotland.  The micronations seem kind of weird to me.  At least Scotland has appreciable turf.

I'm listening to 20 mins of Cake! from Hate Plus OST. Yes, I swear it's not 20 mins of looped music.

Today is/was international women's day. A day with some hefty historical roots in communism.

I encourage everyone to show appreciation for those special people who mean something to you. And wish all the women, communists, and communist women out there the best.

Would that my American citizenship didn't explicitly forbid titles of nobility, or else I'd be very interested in finding out how, exactly, to make this happen.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I was wondering why the major political parties around here weren't capitalizing (Pun intended) on the event for publicity like some of the minor ones tend to...

After going through some old files on the computer, I found a copy of Broforce: The Brototype. Oh man. It's like every 80's action movie ever. In a game.

It's an official UN holiday, and they even have an official theme every year (this year's theme is Inspiring Change), but it's definitely not that widely spread, probably because it was originally "International Working Women's Day" a holiday that was first adopted in the Soviet Union and China, and was a political event celebrating women in the work force.

Not that I'm dissing women in the work force or anything, or having a day for recognizing and celebrating women. The wishing well to communists thing was a joke.
Communists don't need a special holiday, every day is a holiday when you're a member of the glorious socialist work force.
