Really, they're one of the few things that get relatively unilateral support across both genders. Pretty much everyone seems to agree they're kinda' awesome.

Just another decade or five and it'll probably be really easy for everyone to have their own, glorious, pair. Some might suggest this would dilute the awesomeness of breasts, but frankly, we've already got ~50% dispersion and I see no real decrease in glory. I think their position in the shrine of awesome will remain sanctified.

The actual fatty bits aren't necessary for that though. Just the breast tissue underneath. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but men also have the capability to lactate, it just doesn't happen because of a lack of triggering hormones.

Ahhhhhhhhh.  The "get in the way" comment confused me, since I couldn't figure how "boob gets in the way" could relate to sex, unless you've got a serious desire to have the bleeding pectoralis muscle in your hand.
