A terrorist instructor accidentally blows up his own class.

Like the politicians in Iraq are any better :/ half the parties have their own death squads, which they infiltrate into the police and army.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/mar/06/pentagon-iraqi-torture-centres-link

Here's a report on the Police Commandos, mainly drawn from the Iranian-trained Badr militia (a close ally to the 2nd biggest political party from when they held government), and overseen by Colonel James Steele, a US veteran with a history of training groups like the El Salvadorean Death Squads in "counter insurgency" in the early 1980's. The Iraqi police commandos activities eerily mirror some of the atrocities carried out by the El Salvadorean death squads. Kinda suspicious that the same US Special Forces operative was recruited to train both groups ... they should do a movie on this guy: Wait, there IS a movie on this guy:

Quote
Colonel James Steele is a US veteran of the "dirty wars" in Central America, during which he trained counter-insurgency commandos who carried out extreme abuses of human rights. Steele is also a veteran of the Vietnam war. From 1984 to 1986, during the Salvadoran Civil War, Steele operated as a counterinsurgency specialist and was a member of a group of United States special forces advisers to the Salvadoran Army. In 1986 he was implicated in the Iran contra affair. In 2004, early in the Iraq War, Steele was sent by Donald Rumsfeld to serve as a civilian adviser to Iraqi paramilitary Special Police Commandos known as the Wolf Brigade.

Feeling like some change and organization.  Trying out Palemoon for a new browser.  Chrome has felt like it's slowing down lately.  Also thinking about switching to Win 8.  I've been on the same Win7 install for far too long.  It's bogging down.  Need a good formatting.

Isn't windows 8 for tablets? I know my father in law hates the thing on his laptop.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Win8 is terrible, make a new Win7 install instead.

I'm pretty sure it can be modified to behave mostly like Windows 7.

For the first time in weeks I can walk around outside without needing a heavy jacket. Or any jacket at all. This is amazing.

Mostly, except, y'know, worse in most ways, still. 8's just kinda' miserable. It's not really a desktop OS, and getting it to function like one is a bit of a nasty fight.

Just... just re-install 7, SG. Or don't, and don't mind us when we say "Told you so" :P

The complaints are mainly interface, though, right?  Everything I've heard is the stuff under the hood is all improved.  And I won't have to fight to get it to function like a desktop OS, because the copy I found has all that stuff done already :P

And I'll most likely be putting Emerge Desktop over it, anyway.

I'm going to give it a shot.  Not a big deal if it doesn't work out.

This. I'm running Win8 with the shell, and it's mostly Win7, but there are some points where the shit still shines through. Trust me, stick with Windows 7. If you use the Classic Shell replacement Win8 is tolerable, but... damn. It's like encouraging someone to spend money on a Hummer that runs on the blood of infants.
