As someone who genuinely would like to eat this some day, any advice on where I might be able to find curd rather than fully finished/processed cheese? Given I live in the states and I wouldn't even know where to start looking for this. Or even how exactly I should prepare poutine.
Cottage Cheese is curd. It's easy to get. Aside from that, I'm not sure where you would get it.

The best fries are thickly cut and crispy on the exterior yet not burnt, lightly salted and applied to condiments that do not include barbecue sauce or mustard.
Fries are best slightly crispy on the exterior, just enough that the fries aren't visibly "sweating" anymore, and the insides are softened. I tend to prefer thinner fries because this effect is easier to achieve. Good toppings include salt, pepper, ketchup, cheese, bacon, chili, and certain kinds of BBQ sauce.

Any of you who have been to Olga's Kitchen in Michigan and had Snackers know that those are objectively better than fries.

80% of actual food in it's unprepared or plainly prepared (Just heated/made edible with minimal effort) are utterly bland.
What do you mean by 'actual food'?
Fruits and vegetables taste (and feel) better raw usually; a few are bitter but that's a minority and an acquirable taste. Meat tastes different but not necessarily worse. Fish is pretty bland. Shellfish are better soaked with vinegar than actually cooked. I suppose grains can taste bland on their own, but then again muesli exists.

Raw onions are amazing for a fact, and it's far worse to have someone overprepare food by drowning it in cheese or salt or otherwise ruin it.

It's wet curd, though. The kind of curd that's used in poutine generally lacks that milky stuff that cottage cheese generally sits in.

And I've honestly never prepared my own poutine. Always gotten it from a restaurant.

Chips are a shit-tier food. Plants that taste good raw are better than one that tasted bland even when prepared.
Come on at me happy thread.

Oy Tommy, we know you don't have tastebuds - now start running, because otherwise you won't have no teeth left either.

But yeah, well-prepared potatoes FTW. Especially Belgian ones.

I have seen hell. And it is tetris.
According to the comments and scores people have actually managed to get lines on that. I am terrified at the idea that people so dedicated exist.

...So, is that 'marshmallow cream' stuff a popular thing over yonder in 'Murrica?
I actually saw some at my local supermarket and was interested in trying it... Although a jar that big of frigging marshmallow would probably kill me.

I'm not really a food elitist, though. Apart from Vegemite, of course, that stuff is my religion.
I want to try all of these chip-toppings you guys have mentioned... Tomato sauce is the norm here, but I've had a couple of types of seasonings. I might have tried mayo at an awesome vegetarian fast food outlet (seriously that is the best thing ever), but I don't quite remember and sadly it doesn't exist in my state.

As for raw vegetables, well, raw onion is always tasty. :)
I've discovered that chunks of raw onion coated with barbecue sauce make for a nice, lazy snack

Oh, and the main reason I came in here in the first place: my avatar exceeded my Photobucket banquet. Just goes to show how amazing it is! I've never had that happen before.

A contender has arrived.
Well shit.
At least you don't have to get the line perfect, just mostly full, like in Not Tetris. Though I think Not Testris is better in general because the blocks actually disappear along the lines rather than as if they're made of squares. That way you get a load of debris sifting down to the bottom.

preedit: Marmite>Vegemite confirmed for genuine fact.
