I assume so. I watched the most recent video from Carbot Animations, and as I have never played Starcraft, I watch it as a comedy series, so I was laughing instead of crying out in horror.

I haven't had the benefit of experiencing success with the ladies (at least IRL), myself, but from what I can gather from everything I've been picking up on lately, I think the biggest help for anyone in the long-run or for that matter, where all this is concerned with the big picture overall, is that maybe we should stop making such a big deal out of these things (the media has been advertising dating as more than it is (another reason to hate rom-coms and etc.) to the point it bored me out of interest (not to mention, enough failures in the past convinced me it was a waste of time and effort to pursue it for a good chunk of time. My frustration was at it's limit to the point of nearly vowing celibacy for life.)), and do what comes naturally. Things will happen when they happen.

Actually, that's been a rather consistent message I've been getting lately, and it's been running with the flow of my new year's resolution. Learn to cut my losses and move on regardless (if thy eye offends thee, remove it, and learn to work minus an eye, and so forth). Don't be such a perfectionist, don't worry about getting hurt, don't worry about hurting others, or the potential collateral damage you may cause (applies better in games and such than IRL), have fun for the sake of fun (art for art, and etc.) while at it. Applying it to gaming first, I noticed a vast improvement in my ability to play (Actually managed to beat some games quickly again, or some games were easier to progress through. Even worrying less made some arcade games more fun, and higher-scoring than ever. Didn't expect the results I've collected so far, but I like them; and hope similar can apply to work and social interaction.), and overall fun factor (In a sense, I regained my old child-like sense of acceptance, as well as my classic pursuit of fun/comfort; made sleep seem more fulfilling while at it). As for the rest of life, we'll see.

Now that I come and think of it, with everything I've gathered, acquiring a mate seems unusually not too different from finding a pet. I noticed friendship seems quite similar with how it works. I mean, think about it, you find someone you think is interesting, and you sell yourself as worthy to hang out with (being caring, helpful, fun, a source of things harder to find or acquire more cheaply (via sharing or generosity mostly)), but have to compete with their interest and trust. Funny thing I learned in a dream, more as advice I got from what would amount to an old friend (recurring character in my dreams for nearly a decade and a half): "If you want to win someone over, win yourself over. You're not selling yourself to them, you're selling yourself to yourself. If you can accept yourself for who and what you are, then they'll more likely do the same in return". Talk about getting a clear message from nowhere (seeing as it came from my dreamverse).

Actually, I wrote it down after I woke up, and it was fresh in my memory. the message was closer to:
"You want to win someone over, and ensure it's legit? Do unto others as you'd want done unto you. You're not winning them over; you're winning yourself over."

I think the advice came after my dream tested my skills on that character (out of familiarity). Needless to say, I still suck; but the fact I had my resolution applied, I didn't take it so badly. Oddly enough, my dream called me out on the difference, and showed me a quick memory-flash of the alternative without getting over it so easily, and the alternative of what they were expecting, based on what they knew of me (Don't know if I dream, or my spirit wanders, anymore). Turned out I was more calm about it, though still massively disadvantaged without proper experience (My waking experience has more failures than success, so even if I do succeed, especially IRL, I don't know how to handle it properly (I assume this is why I dream post-success in most cases of those realities)). And thus the advice came. So to put it, the advice got rid of that part of the equation (worrying about my experience level and social-skills), making asking out the next time seem less like a job interview, and more like asking someone to join me on a walk or a drink for the hell of it (or in the context of said dream, go out dancing on the club floor). In a sense, like my art skills and such, it was loosening me up from the constraints and pressures I put on myself, rendering it more like work (which, lazy as I am, I try my hardest to avoid, especially due to the hassles) than as a potential source of entertainment (art for art's sake again).

Professional firefighters need to be able to wear gas masks, and also be ready for action at all times. Gas masks don't get along too well with facial hair; I heard that some firefighters need to shave twice a day because of thes.
