I was given an assignment today that I was dreading, thanks to my most recent experiences at that location being nothing short of torturous. Heavy traffic on the way there, endless bullshit at the site, even worse traffic coming back...usual stuff. I fully expected to either crash for the night there or suffer through another four hours of stop-and-go traffic.

So imagine my delight when I get there in a reasonable time, have virtually no bullshit to deal with on site, and get back to base in even better time. Either my divine powers came into play, some wizard used some arcane sorcery to help me out, or I just got lucky, but in any case I'm pretty damn happy about that.

Well, we could put two and two together and write a book: "The Shit that Hans and Max Did: You Won't Believe This Shit."
He's fucking with us.

Yiss. Put a shitton of work into that accounting final. I think it went really well, actually. Accounting's a LOT easier when you can see the whole cycle at once!

Also: school's over! Yuss!

** Sleeping bag made (at least mostly) from sharkskin. Hopefully not like that one pair of gloves... Also maybe a sleeping bag made from a hollowed out shark, which would just be strange and probably unworkable.

The idea of a sleeping bag that you can get it but not get out sounds like a horrifying torture and execution device.

If it wasn't inside out, though, your kid would be the terror of the slumber party.

Wait, do children even have slumber parties any more? I feel way too old for my age right now. o.0

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Went to see a therapist or psychiatrist or shrink or whatever. Talked about me being bummed out about shit.

Felt better afterwards. This weekend I actually made an effort to play guitar, experiment with chordbuilding on the seven-string I recently bought, jammed for more than my usual fifteen minutes or less a day, and actually looked at lessons and resources online to try and better understand how to do what I want to do rather than not bother doing anything. I was more motivated and productive this weekend than I've been in months. I think I'm getting out of my slump.

feels good man. Life actually doesn't seem hopeless and overwhelming. Life still seems kinda intimidating and overly complicated and uncontrollable but at least I'm not constantly stressing out about the impending future or my past mistakes or how I'm an unproductive worthless member of society.

So, yeah. I actually have good feels for once. Wheee.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Oh man, I remember when one of those ghosthunter shows did an episode on a place I worked at. We all had a good laugh because every single thing that they freaked out at was something we could instantly identify. The best was an ice-maker that got every single pair of them. But damn, that chalkboard. xD
