TITLE IS TOO LONG
« Reply #117362 on: December 03, 2013, 07:31:25 pm »

I had a good nightmare last night.
It was wonderful.
I saw a man rip out another man's intestines with one hand and start chopping away meat with his little knife until there was just spine exposed.
He proceeded to break the spine and throw the corpse onto the grass.
I was viewing from the perspective of the victim, through his eyes, but it wasn't me.
I have inspiration for my art now.

I..um..got lost in the bolded portion. Who is 'he' now?

Anyways, got a nice chat over PMs with a certain somebody on Steam.
*looks 2 spaces above*
Pretty nice, funny guy.

Also snowy owl music every night. With hourly intervals of two or so hoots. It's that rare tone that really brightens the hour.

"He" is the attacker. "His" refers to the victim.

Both individuals were male. I thought that the assailant was female but it turns out that was just the skin of a female.
I have classified this individual as a Manslayer Savant, and I have decided what this place was.

It was portrayed in the dream as the setting of a survival horror game that recently came out.
I've decided that this location is where those who have aggravated one of the two deities are sent to atone.
Seven chances, goal is to survive.
Daylight for 29 out of 30 hours of the day.
Forests and grasslands, mostly, very hilly.
Staying they for extended periods of time shuts down post-animal brain functions.
The Savants are the ones who opted to stay.

I'm pretty sure it'd be like...

Time Song = Reverses time.

Inverse Time Song = Forward Time by the same rate.

Faster tempo = Speeds up how fast time goes.

Slower tempo = Slower time.

So depending on how fast the Song of Time reverses time, you can derive all the rest! :D

Song of Time = Reverts time to day 1.

Song of Reverse Time = Toggles between half speed and normal speed time.

Song of Double Time (Play each note twice) = Fast forward to dawn/dusk
This is how it works. Majora's Mask is like my favorite game ever so I should know this. Speaking of which, When are they ever going to release an HD Majora's Mask? It's leagues better than OoT. Every time I try to play OoT I just get bored halfway in and stop.

From what I heard (from bored game store employees, so take it with a grain of salt), they are in fact working on one. Might be released on the 3DS, which personally I would find extremely kickass.

Installing Morrowind GOTY from an original retail disc. As much as I love the convenience of Steam, I miss when installing a game was as much a part of the experience as watching the trailers or showing up on launch day for a copy. Looking at the artwork that you've already seen, swapping out discs, listening to music if the installer plays any... It gets me hyped to play the game in a way that Steam's unobtrusive downloads lack.

I always did like it when games came with a proper manual with facts about the background and enemies, weapons and the like that weren't present in the game. Helped with worldbuilding, because it could tell some things without showing.

Alas, no longer. Even non-digital games have a single leaflet now inside rather than a thick tome.

Ah, well. The usefulness of digital downloads makes up for it.

Keywords! The perfect solution. Everything will have keywords to denote its various types, and they'll be stored in basically-tooltips so that they're not obtrusive but are still conveniently accessible when you want to get at them. No rules baggage associated with types, so they're just there to trigger other rules. So the Elf type doesn't mean anything but flavor, unless some guy really hates Elves and has an ability that makes it matter.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Remember the dozen-or-so lined pages at the back that were specifically meant for you to take notes about secrets and cheats?

I miss cheats. Not many games have them anymore. Or at least it feels like it.
