I vote for VASSAL.  Let's not do a PBEM, let's have an all day Risk-athon, face-to-face.

Would you guys mock me if I admitted I've long since forgotten how to play Risk?  And probably didn't know in the first place?  Gah, screw it, let's play Kriegsspiel or Little Wars.

Monopoly is still cool...
I've actually NEVER played risk...

I'd still be interested in Monopoly, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, whatever.

Guys... guys.... let's play Jenga.

But seriously, perhaps this deserves a new thread, a list of game ideas (and descriptions if they're uncommon games), and then set up a poll or something. Or an enterprising game-runner can just take the reins and propose one.

Also, Robo Rally would be awesome.

Lets Plays made me happy. Specifically, slowbeef's Metroid Prime 2: Echoes LP over on Something Awful. Updated twice today.

I remember watching through his LP of Super Metroid Limit.

1- Alright, got him... Wait a second. That doesn't hurt us, right? It's just water?
2- Yeah, I think so.
1- Wait, you mean he just dissolved?
2- Looks that way.
1- That is the most pathertic enemy I've ever come across.

Or words to that effect. It's been ages since I last watched those videos. But yeah, Crocomire battle, but instead of acid/magma, it was water it fell in. Never laughed so hard the first time I saw it.

EDIT:
Looked through the LPArchive. It was Scarboy that did that one. My mistake. But I think Slowbeef did have some input at times though. Speaking of LPs, it looks like Guavamoment finally got around to, and finished XCOM: TFTD. Haven't read that one yet. I've read the awesome UFO and Apoc ones, but not TFTD.

EDIT EDIT:
Thumbed through it (but not watched the videos yet). Looks rather entertaining.

I'd like to remind everyone that half of the time I don't even know what I'm talking about. The other half of the time I only sort of know what I'm talking about.

I got punched in the face twice. Why is this in the happy thread?

Because it was fucking hilarious.

When i went to go for my exam, some random kid yelled at me and said that his cousin was going to punch me in the face. She said she was not, in fact going to punch me in the face. She opened her arms in a hugging gesture, i walked forward (I have no idea why) and she punched me in the face. She grabbed my hair, punched me again and walked away, and her cousin said that i just got beat up by a girl.

I have no clue.

They could have had me confused with the other Josh, who has recently pissed a lot of people off.

The videos are what make that LP. It's XCOM as it was intended to be played, between two friends commenting a replay going "Oh hell, THAT was where you were!"

Oh yeah,  that was what made parts of the UFO playthrough so entertaining.

The story editing was great, but sometimes those deathmatches sold me best. Which kinda reminds me; we have to arrange some UFO2k matches. Closest thing to some head-to-head X-COM deathmatching.

Why not? I might as well make a post regarding some of that if anyone would be willing. Plus, I think the guys that are (hopefully) still working on it could use a few more fans to support their efforts.
