Sometimes, while fixing my morning coffee (or afternoon coffee, or evening coffee, or midnight coffee...), I like to pretend that I am an ancient, pioneering alchemist attempting to create a flawless Potion of Awakening.
That's for fools. Be like the best guys.
Make a potion of Fortify Intelligence.
Then spam more potions of Fortify Intelligence while drinking the last one and in the end make a potion of Restore Health and become reborn.

Ah, I wish such shenanigans were possible in more recent games. It's so silly and amusing to break mechanics sometimes.
I hear if you drink enough coffee time slows down.

But Fortify Intelligence potions aren't nearly as rich and flavorful as coffee Potions of Awakening. You can't enjoy a Fortify Intelligence potion with a nice breakfast snack, either. Not unless you want to end up spending half your day philosophizing over the true nature and meaning of a sausage McMuffin.

Certainly not the ones in Morrowind. Those things were made from ash yams, bloat and/or netch leather. S'more like a meal then a drink. I wonder if games could extend alchemy to creating things other then potions, like a sausage of fortify constitution or a pastry of sneaking.

Yeah, stuff as usual.

In other, happier news, I think I figured out the major detriment to my motivation when it comes to doing just about anything. It's my damned imagination, because you see, as soon as I decide I'd like to do something, my mind immediately runs off imagining the possibilities and how it could turn out, it being my stupid mind it imagines mostly good or great outcomes, completely ignoring reality. It then comes back and tells me about all these cool things, at which point my more rational parts slaps it silly and tells me that all of that is mostly bullshit. At that point I get slightly sad and think to myself, well, why try then if I can't even know that it will turn out good and in any case it won't turn out nearly as good as my imagination. So I go on and talk to the imaginative brain some more, it weaving stupid twists and bullshit stories like crazy all the while I listen carefuly because hey, wouldn't it be awesome if some of that were to happen?

So with that figured out, I now kinda now how to fight it, it probably won't be easy but if it works, hoo boy, the sky is the limit then :D

Reduced to a blubbering baby by this beautiful dramatic reading of "To Autumn". To hear my favorite poem finally done justice after writing an 800-word essay on it is an amazing feeling.

Reached Mun. Crashed on it. Still happy, as the previous attempt is still somewhere in orbit in his EVA suit, which is a considerably worse death.

Have you read Rilke and Baudelaire on autumn?  They also have magnificent poems. . . I almost wrote a 10-page paper comparing the three for a final paper my senior year.  (Instead it was on Keats, Baudelaire, Hugo, and their interactions with ekphrasis as a literary construct)

I'm doing better than I have since the end of high school.  I have my complaints--namely that my brain is going to waste--but I've recovered something I thought wholly unrecoverable, seemingly by accident.
