Ah, yes, D&D 3.5. Good times. Also, Sabin takes on the only target more challenging than a train.
This is glorious.

I've always been fond of the Jumplomancer. An acrobat that sprints at 100mph/160kph, can jump high enough to get about a minute of airtime, and has the ability to make anyone who witnessed the jump fanatically and undyingly loyal, by cheesing rules that allow acrobatic performances to act as diplomacy checks.

Jumplomancer sprints into town, leaps straight into the air, and lands. Then they own the town. Jump around the campaign world for long enough, and they'll own the whole thing.

I'm getting an idea for a setting here now...   A world where people with rules exploits like these start popping up everywhere inexplicably, and then-

I lost my train of thought darnit.

Rule-fucking is one of my favourite things. There's something particularly satisfying about knowing how to bend some rules over and wreck their metaphorical behind with a large, phalically modelled set of loopholes.

I've always been fond of the strategy for using Cloudkill to murder everybody in the world.

Today, while trying to come up with topics for my college essays, I suddenly realized why I've felt and believed such different things compared to my peers. Before I've always put it down as to having an upbringing with more eastern ideals. But I thought about it, and realized its more than that. The reason I'm not as cynical or desperate to be better than everyone else was that I've lived my life surrounded by success stories. My family on boths sides came to America as refugees and had to start over with practically nothing, yet now they're all doctors and engineers and such. And somehow, despite being such a huge family, we don't have any grudges and feuds. Well at least, not ones that are big enough to cause trouble for anybody. And when I think about it, the other reason for why I respect authority figures so much besides my upbringing and lack of negative experiences has been at least subconsciously that, in a way I owe the US government my existence, since they were the ones that got my father's family out of Vietnam when the war ended to keep them from being punished since my grandfather was a colonel in the South Vietnamese army.

It just... feels oddly comforting to finally understand what this means to me.

Oh.  My.  God.  I must find these games somewhere.

Also, I just tripled my manga collection for free thanks to a judicious camping of Craigslist.  Yes, I now have 9 apple boxes that are manga, and manga only.  Most of it isn't even porn
