It... it took me a while to realize that wasn't a horrifying spider monstrosity with sixteen eyes and no essence but terror. Then I spent a bit thinking it was just two spiders getting it on.

... then I finally realized, ohey. That's a little spider. Not a spidermouth, or a spider mostly concealed under the bulk of a larger one. Just... just a little one. Probably about to be eaten. The cycle of liiife~

I read Kikiyama's (video) Yume Nikki and was (very) disturbed by (certain parts of) it. The explanation as to why that is so, and why I post this here, is something I'm still trying to work into words. I strongly suspect the result would need to be different for each listener I know, though.
I began feeling paranoia towards the dark and a hollowness, while my mind started outlining exactly what I was missing, which are all good signs, but I'm still not sure how to go about claiming this particular part of the uncanny valley— and indeed, I might even lose territory if I do something stupid.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Mmmm. Its suppose to be that way. The insane difficulty and moral debate take precedence over everything else.

I guess I just haven't even gotten to the moral debate yet then?
It happens throughout the game if you're trying to stick to being neutral, with its tiny zone of success and all. Otherwise, it just happens laterish as the plot goes on.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

See, we should show these to people.
Spiders aren't evil, neither sharks, nor ants.

I don't care if they aren't evil, they still look really creepy and gross.  Friendly sure, but eehhhg.

That thing about honey badgers reminds me of something I read in Equal Rites recently, which could've almost a DF reference had the book not been written sometime in the 1980's.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

I have 2 electronics teachers.   One is cool, one is incompetent.  The cool teacher just gave this question as a bonus question on a test.
Quote from: advanced electronics test
For the following circuit diagram find VBE.  (VCC= 12V VBE = 0.7V)
*Extremely complicated circuit here*
A: 0.7V
B: 0.7V
C: Both A and B
D: I don't read instructions

I lol'd a little.  Made me feel better after taking a hard test, and hey, free 5 bonus points!

It's a well-known fact that Pratchett is in posession of a time machine capable of going to the future, what with Unseen University being ripped off Harry Potter twenty years before the latter became a thing, same thing with Carpe Jugulum's plot, etc. etc.

Dwarf Fortress reference prior to Dwarf Fortress would not be particularly surprising anymore.

He's just a huge influence on everyone who does fiction, isn't he? Like a TVTropes for people wo don't know TVTropes... You can't get around Pratchett, just like you can't get around Tolkien.
