I have just seen a fantastic song title. The track isn't spectacular, but being called "JESUS CHRIST IT'S A DINOSAUR, GET IN THE EPOCH" makes up for a lot.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I actually have enough money to afford a 3DS now! Regular or XL?
Depends. How often will you be using it, and will you be able to charge it often? IIRC, the regular 3DS is a bit cheaper, but the XL has a lot longer battery life.
The XL has a longer battery life? I was under the impression it had a shorter life.
I've heard it has a longer battery life, but I don't own a regular 3DS, so I can't compare the two.
Xl can squeeze about another 1.5 hours of battery life over the 3ds, but considering i like stuff that fits in my pocket and i can switch out for a bigger battery its no worries for me :D
Clearly you have inferior pockets, Telle. The 3DSXL fits in my pockets just as easily as my Lite does.

Watership down is not a children's book. Nor really a kid's show.

Animation does not mean its related to kids shows. Its just more likely to be.

Friggin' drooling over frock coats right now.

Also, got a really beautiful soft green wool sweater today which hangs long on my body and arms, in a really adorable way--it'll be an amazing housecoat.  It's funny, but I've graduated from wearing mostly browns and reds to black, greens, white, and blues, and I look much better.  Like, seriously, why didn't I figure this out before.

I think it's a little bit unexpected to get wrapped up in these things, but on the other hand it makes me happy that the colors I like are also colors that I happen to look good in.  And someone commented last year about my wearing a hell of a lot of black, which sort of surprised me but fuck it I look good in charcoal tones, so there.

Meh.  I really do enjoy looking pretty on my own terms.

I've got a small black leather purse with silver details that I carry everywhere, and...

Well, frankly, my clothing almost all has pockets, especially my ubiquitous jackets and coats, but I'm 5'2" and slim.  With the size of everyday objects even if I were wearing full-on cargo pants I'd look stupid carrying a wallet, it'd create an enormous butt-bulge or a tumorous growth on my thigh.  So yeah.  Even with my pockets I don't use them anyway.  I'd be better off with a utility belt or something.
