Anyway, another legit happy: I just finished A Canticle For Leibowitz. I am so very sick to death of this book.

That's the same reason I couldn't get into that one book... What was it called? Oh yeah, The Bible.
The story was OK, but the major religious overtones really took me out of the whole experience.

I don't believe any of those things are true with any version of the Bible. The same is true of the Torah, the Qu'ran (which reads like terrible Bible fanfiction, honestly,) the Book of Mormon (ditto,) and a whole host of Wiccan and "Mythology" books, like those of ancient Egypt, the Norse, and the Greek/Romans.

None of the characters in those books are even slightly believable, the stories have out-of-place morals tacked on to them even if they don't fit the overall theme of the parable/fable/whatnot in question, the books are full of plot holes and contradictions, and the language they're written in is boring as hell. One star, would not buy again.
