I just can't stop giggling at how silly this juxtaposition is. CG spacebattle + Touhou Music. All I can think of is 'everyone at the helm right now is completely hammered and is just bashing the controls without a single care in the world.'

Looks like some sort of a DF world renderer. You can see a fortress in the bottom left, the obvious tombs in the middle, and the world map in the bottom right. Not sure what one it is exactly though.

DF2Minecraft. It's included with some version of DFHack, but it's very out-dated. It works with any 3D version of DF, but it's very limited in its block placement.

Also, you'd need 3 blocks for every DF z-level. 1 for the floor and 2 for the walking space/wall.

That obviously wasn't the actual reason why he was coming along, since he hadn't heard about my desire to climb Cinderblock Wall beforehand, but I really, really appreciate the idea that someone's protective nature might grow rather than stifle my taste for adventure.
