Also, a video game I would play the crap out of: An RPG type game that takes place in between the first person getting infected in Aliens, and the death of the lasts colonists on LV-426. There are some... Difficulties inherent in this idea, so perhaps it's a different colony of similar size and make up. It would have a few different stages, but I would hope it would be mostly sandbox and as randomized as possible. Also, it would be something of a cross between games like L.A. Noire, where you have to track down clues and figure out the plot, and SS13, where you have to have intense technical knowledge to survive, as well as heavy survival horror elements.
First stage would be pre-contact. Maybe you go around and get acquainted with your fellow crewmembers. This would probably be a pretty RP heavy section. Perhaps this game would be multiplayer, but maybe not. Anyways, you go around and talk to people and figure out how some technical knowledge.
Stage two would be contact. Someone in the colony gets facehugged, and everyone is speculating, trying to figure out what is going on, or worried about their loved one. Perhaps its more than one person even. This part of the game would utilize some more of the L.A. Noire aspects than the technical knowledge, unless you were a surgeon or something. Eventually, the person 'hatches' and that leads into...
Stage three: Active alien infestation. At first, it'd just be 1 alien or very few of them. The colony would still be swarming with people, and everyone would mostly just be concerned with finding the 'little snakes that came out of my loved one' or whatever. Some L.A. Noire aspects would be fading out, and you'd be getting into the whole survival horror part. Slowly, people would be disappearing, and the aliens would be gaining momentum, unless you defeated them. Eventually, people would start hiding, and fighting back. Barricading themselves into 'safe' places, arming up, making makeshift weapons, so on.
Stage four: You against the swarm. All the other people, or just the vast majority of them, are dead or captured, and you are all alone against a swarm of aliens out for your blood. Every room could be your death, every hallway could be where they find you. You'd have to use your technical knowledge of the station to it's fullest, deploy your weapons with maximum efficiency, and use what you learned of the other people on board to acquire what you need to survive. Joe Bob had a shotgun in his closet, but what deck was it on, and which room was his? Well, I hope you remember, because your flamethrower is running out of fuel!
It'd need a lot of fleshing out, but I'd love to play a game like this.
Edit: Also, in Aliens, Ripley gets the powerloader and picks up that box, turns and asks Apone where he wants it. His reply?
"Bay 12 please." O.O
