Im just curious if we have people here reading Reddit on a semi-regular basis. It seems like there may be a good amount of overlap considering how nerdy we all are.

For those that don't know what its all about, it is a link aggregator that has transformed into a sensible, intelligent community full of discussion, insights and useful links.

PS: There's even a Dwarf fortress community.

Well I'm sorry if you thought differently (and I may have exaggerated a little), but I believe it is a great place.

Oh, no offence meant. It's just that I find any online community to be largely crap with occasional moments of brilliance and interesting conversation. Good for you for finding one you can tolerate.

So, Reddit is kind of like Digg? Only with worse front-page design and a more vocal commenting community?

There is a lot less overlap with 4chan (you can imagine how much that helps) and the focus is more on thoughtful discourse than the sort of pissing contests that plague Digg and the like.

The structure also allows for a great deal of community. Its set up sort of like a forum (separate boards) and each "subreddit" has its own feel and purpose.
