The first battle has finally arisen! I present to you...

Safehold Gamma vs Core Theta,Battle 1!

In the lower right corner, we have two Stings, equipped with two twin blaster turrets and a enhanced point beam each.


In the upper right, three scared little constructors and the Frigga appointed to defend them while they work. The Frigga is a carrier ship equiped only with four fighter bays capable of deploying Hornets. Hornets carry but a single dumbfire missile a piece(power is divided by 5 of course).


Right off the bat, the Frigga deploys it's fighters into the side of a meteor. Not a good start...


Of course, Redwarrior's enhanced point beams are plenty enough to prevent such a mistake, something DFnewb should have thought of.


Fighter squadron on it's way to intercept.


The fighters scramble while letting loose with rockets.


Except for one, which promptly gets atomized by blaster fire. The left set of Hornets takes note of this and ducks behind some asteroid cover.


However the Stings respond by hopping over and lighting them up.


Another squadron of fighters is unleashed, apparently the Stings wisen up and realize they have to take out that Frigga or they will die of attrition.


Seems that constructor(which is getting dangerously close to the action) was hit by a meteor.


Fighters exploding right out of the bay, poor guys didn't stand a chance...


It also seems the Frigga lost a armor panel in the back, in addition to heavy damage toward the front.


The Frigga dives behind some asteroid cover to buy some time.


And a constructor goes behind enemy lines and gets clobbered by a meteor.


And another constructor gets a chunk blown off, are these guys flying drunk?


The same constructor gets another chunk blown off while the other one receives fire. Where are those Hornets?


In hopes of mercy, the constructors attempt to squeeze by the marauding Stings. Luckily they seem focused on the Frigga at the moment.


And for good reason, at this rate they can finish the Frigga off in not too long.


And the Frigga dives behind some asteroid cover again... This may take a while...

Well lets take a look at those Sting hulls shall we?


Not too bad... One has some heavy damage, but neither have lost anything as of yet.


Dedicated lil' buggers... Still, they are the only things whittling away at the Stings besides the asteroids, and the asteroids need to be lucky.


The Frigga releases another swarm of Hornets, but much to their dismay the Stings were ready and pumped them full of blaster energy the moment they left the bays.


Oh no... What are those crazy constructors doing now?




OH THE HUMANITY!


With the constructors gone, all that is left is the Frigga, which is on deaths door as is. This will be over soon...


It tries to dive into a cluster of meteors, bad move...

No repairs necessary. And DF newb lost 4500 in constructions plus 8500 in ships. Ouch indeed.

When a ship is destroyed, it makes a explosion like that, it's just that I caught it at it's peak.

And constructors create stations. These constructors are the stock variant everyone gets, they don't have to use them but they give people something to start with.

Reboot Turn 07 Report:


(the following list represents the order of turns)
-Midgar(DFnewb)

(colored circles represent system control,colored tick marks represent fleet presence(basically ships or stations in the sector without system control),D-1/2/3 represents asteroid density level)

DFnewb expanded into Core Theta, which was responded shortly by an attack from Safehold space, Redwarrior now watches over Theta.




DFnewb failed his research, but has developed a new version of his ever so popular 'habiminer' that can be placed in sectors with a density of 2, and mine it fully.


Myroc upgraded his dumbfire missiles with tracking capabilities, basically meaning normal missiles. They are still slow, but they are far more accurate now and still cost a pittence of 150 a piece.
 He also has designed a massive warship of his own, the Jormungandr(previous Jormungandr has been re-named to Valkyrie). This ship sports four quad missile turrets, 20(!) machineguns, four point rockets, and has two fighter bays deploying Einherjars. These fighters carry two missile launchers and a pulse gun.
 this ship is the cheapest 'big ship' as of yet, but still packs a mean punch. And the fighters are easily the most superior of their kind as of yet.


Redwarrior0 researched reduced module costs. He attempted a second research but did not succeed. He has also developed a 3 production station.


Janet decreased her ship costs. Also, anal fish.
