Fixed up the nose, one of the eyes, and eyebrow, and changed the shading quite a bit. Lots of other miscellaneous stuff as well.
I'm pretty burnt out tonight, tomorrow's a new day.
That is incredible every time I see it.
I can't really see any differences apart from the shading, and althought it might just be a trick of the perspective, her coat thingy goes straight in a line downwards. To me, it doesn't look natural.
Your smoke and rose look pretty good, but be careful drawing with a mouse; good way to hurt your wrist. Do you have access to a scanner, or possibly a digital camera? That's another good way to show drawings. Anyway, keep practicing and developing your art!
Thanks,
I have a digital camera, but I don't have a scanner. Also, I've developed a method of not hurting your hand in photoshop.
Hold the mouse with your thumb and forefinger holding the sides, leave a gap so you can pivot the mouse easily. (Bleh, I suck at explinations) Or you could just use a small mouse like I do.
Also, about your Nazi, the detail starts off good, but drifts rather somewhat towards his feet. The dude's bootstraps aren't up to par.
Oh yeah, that reminds me. A couple months old picture I took of one of me n' my mate's doodles:
Some wierd monster thingy. I challenge someone to make a DF Creature of it!
And here's a little treatise I wrote on it:
The Ooze GiantFoolish is the traveler who makes his way through the savage and sinister wilds. However, if the traveler strays too near to a swamp, they had better make haste away quickly; for there is a creature that hunts in these swampy lands. A patient and always lethal hunter…
Crawling out a mad-man’s worst nightmare, the Ooze Giant is a creature seldom seen. This large bipedal creature has a tough, scaly hide, impenetrable to sword and arrow. Its green slimy skin reeks of a foul miasma where ever it goes. The Ooze Giant’s massive hands will not only crush its enemies to death, but also consume them slowly – a mouth is set in both of its palms. With thick trunk-like legs, the Ooze Giant weighs heavy beyond belief. But heavy suits it just fine.
The hunting style of the Ooze Giant is a peculiar one. Usually never straying far from a murky, muddy pool, this patient hunter will lie hidden in the ground. When its extremely sensitive follicles detect vibrations, the Ooze Giant will slowly begin to inch forward in that direction. Following the vibration, this creature will gather speed, rising slowly while it is so. Eventually it will be an unstoppable juggernaut of destruction, with nothing keeping it from its goal. This hunting style has been compared to that of an ocean wave – it gathers speed and height as it nears the coast. The unfortunate victim will almost always die.
Despite being extremely dangerous, many brave, callous youths have tried to kill such a terrifying beast. None of them have returned. What would drive such a person to that depth of idiocy? Only the allure of wild riches and fame could tempt one to sacrifice their life. While the meat of the Ooze Giant is as vile as it reeks, the leather of this creature is so legendary many think our beloved Giant a myth. The hide is unbelievably ugly, but it makes up for that with its weight in gold, which is quite a lot!
The hide of the Ooze Giant has to be extremely tough and spiny for it to resist the scrapings and for slicing undergrowth and overgrowth as it comes out of the ground. The leather of the Ooze Giant can be crafted into near unstoppable thick leather armour, being able to withstand bludgeon and gore and deflect the piercing tips of arrows and spears; only the keenest of blade will be able to slice into this leather, all others slide off.
The spines on the hide are made of an ivory-like material, naturally sharp and serrated. It takes many days and many blades broken to saw through the spines at the base. They can then be molded and shaped until it resembles the blade or tip of a weapon. The resulting weapon is as devastating as it is durable: arrow heads that puncture all metals; ballista bolts that skewer whole squads together; swords and axes so sharp that they seem to cut light itself.
The Ooze Giant’s use is not only limited to weapons, however. Many alchemists would sell their soul for Ivory Ooze Dust – ground up flaky powder of the spines of the Ooze Giants. This Ooze Dust has apparently been tested and confirmed to cure the patient of venom and disease. Sprinkled over a wound and the injury will heal within seconds. The old wives even gossip of it being a powerful aphrodisiac when in food; sprinkle some on the dinner and you n’ your missus be going at it like a pair of randy rabbits. Or so they say…
