Always love your randomness dude, makes some interesting stories in my head :)

Anyways, haven't been able to do anything creative for the past week or so, I just kinda wen't meh after the intial five minutes and gave up on everything. But finally this night, it has happened, the random spark was found again and it gave a big punch to my artsy center, kicking it into overdrive for some twenty minutes or so :>

Here's the result:

I really like your style. It's got some kind of perfect balance between simplicity and detail. It works beautifully on human faces.

Thanks! :)

Jopax, that is lovely. I think it might use some space around the figure, though. Right now it's pretty much cut to the wings. Some more shattered earth, a few threatening clouds, maybe just blank canvas to make it look less tight.

What's the deal with that grainy stuff, by the way? Near the bottom. Sort of like smudged graphite. That a filter or a brush or what?

If this was a video game cover, what would the title be?

I like that a lot, and I haven't got a clue! (Martin goes shopping?)

I like that as well - excellent proportions, and the shield has a really good sense of 'volume'. I suspect the chest might be over-rotated, if I wanted to be picky.

The grainy stuff is just one of those could/splotchy brushes sized up quite a bit, I used it mainly to smack some value onto the piece at first and painted over it.

Video game cover thingy, Pelicans!! (with the exclamation and all).

As for robocorns dude, it looks nice for a WiP, one thing to note, is that you could use a broader range of values, especially in the chest area, right now it all kinda blends together and it's somewhat hard to tell apart the left arm from the chest piece. Other than that, I like the pose and the general feel of the figure, the skeletal/zombie thing is executed very nicely.

Incline!

Soadreqm, your gamecover reminds me of the GTA covers. At least compositinally. Each subject on its own brings the thoughts all over the place. Really like the "mad men" dude though. Stylish.

Robocorn, thanks for sharing that. It's always interesting/informative to see better artists work in progress. Try to figure out how they go about building forms etc.

For some reason, it reminds me of Mirror's edge. The buildings, the helicopter and a female person climbing someone who looks like a powerful politician... Don't know how to explain the pelican though.

So I made another one, this time a friend gave a theme, Black Water. I even used some photos (just try and find them) to give it a bit of texture in certain places :>

So I was just scribbling in SAI thanks to a combination of boredom and lack of ideas, and I came up with this.

Hrm...is there a specific reason people use SAI tools often? I hear that many artists use SAI for their art instead of other programs, especially in Korea.

SAI is cheap, lightweight, and has pretty good algorithms for replicating real media. It tends to be pretty ideal for most digital art.
