Wow, some great art in this thread. I've just spent the last ~30 minutes browsing and I've barely touched the surface.

Lofn's character looks more male to me. The chin is more male/pointy than soft/feminine. Also, the shoulders look too broad to be female, and the collarbone is more pronounced and square-ish than I would expect to see on a female character. Could just be me, though. Either way, s/he is leaning towards androgyny to a greater or lesser extent.

...seems to be cross-eyed though...

I think it's like the opposite of cross-eyed. They're looking in different directions. Also, the green eye seems to be a bit higher than the scary red one, which is probably a part of it.

Well, if you have a better word for it tell me.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It seems inspiration finds me only late at night, and only on weekdays :l

Have you ever read Gunnerkrigg Court?

Also, LNCP, I think ther should be a deeper shadow next to the nose in this:

Some doodles. Maybe some day I'll be able to draw something truly impressive.
Critique welcome, as always.

Now that you mention it, it is a striking similarity.

Yes i do read GC, but i don't really remember where the idea for that one came, it was just a random thought after listening to some Thomas Newman :)

Sean, no, but my love for the style is pretty apparent isn't it?  8)
Ages ago, I actually did quite a bit of concept work for a homeworld2 mod, Angels Fall First: Naval Combat Operations, or some such rot. That was my first foray into the whacky world of game-dev.

That model was just for some psudo competition involving f-zero designs.

@daemoria: Blurrier/messier than your usual crisp looking hard-brush landscapes/characters. Why so?

Oh miniatures, i love those.I once made a few out of beeswax, unprocessed, using mostly my fingers and a piece of my lamp for precise sculpting.Lately i have been bored at school so i made some faces and a totem from chalk using a pencil ammo box (you know, where you keep those little sticks of graphite that go into mechanical pencils)
