Here's a quick sketch of how I see the second one. I didn't get the perspective right or shade it enough but I should probably go to bed.

Anyway, Urist McQuadriplegic, an old guy who lost his legs and his hands and has to drag himself around.

You aught to put bandages on him; right now he looks like he was born without hands or legs, not lost them.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Does anyone have any advice for improving perspective-drawing skills?  Apart from 'practice practice practice' I mean.

Honestly practice is the biggest thing. Go outside and draw things as you see them, while thinking about the principles of perspective. Nature is the greatest teacher.

If you know a whole lot about perspective but don't understand how it actually looks and works in nature then it will just look forced.

I was hoping that there was more to it than that, but ah well.  Back to sketching.  Cheers.

I only came here to look at the rest of yours' pictures, but when I noticed those silhouettes above I just had to draw what what I saw in them (or at least the one on the left). Anyway, here's the result (I clearly agree about it being a hatted hobo-like guy and and all. Dunno why he keeps his staff behind his back, though ;)

Shilouettes, you guys ever do them? I mess around some with shilouettes whenever inspiration is playing hard to get, and sooner or later my mind plays tricks on me and I have something to sketch.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The same shilouette can be interpreted different by different minds though, so I thought why not make some experiments in here?

Pick one of the shilouettes above and paint what you see over it. I can't provide any prizes or fancy titles, but there should be some fun in this. What do you all say?

Thought I'd give this a shot too. I turned the second silhouette upside down for mine.

I learned that I know nigh on nothing about head painting, haha.
