Wow...nicely done, Joss. Svampapa gets credit too, of course, since that wouldn't be possible without his excellent dwarf.

Jopax: That looks better I think. I think it has potential, but there is a lot left that needs attention. Such as the lighting on the environment, detail of the cloth and armour textures, and perhaps more indicators to what sorts of materials the various objects are. For example, right now it is a bit difficult for me to tell if he is wearing a cloth hood or a thick metal helm. It also isn't very clear how he is holding that lantern, but the scene itself isn't really dark enough to keep it hidden in shadow.
If you just keep pushing it I think the results will surprise you.

The first post mentioned that any style is acceptable and welcome... that sent me wondering. Is this style acceptable too?

Few examples of my work. Some are drawn with mechanical pencils, and some are drawn with a tablet. And yes, I watch anime, and no, I'm not Japanese, but Korean, which is close enough, I guess.

If the above is acceptable, I guess I will just hop right in :)

The fact that you say Japanese is close enough to Korean makes me think you weren't born in Korea ;)

Your style is very clean and well developed, and perfectly acceptable.

I was born in Korea, completed the mandatory military service as infantry, etc. I am simply one of those rarer kind of Korean that doesn't think Japanese people are life enemies simply for being Japanese.

But of course, a very large portion of my nation thinks the only good Japanese is a defeated, humiliated, and scared Japanese. For that observation, I praise your knowledge of the Korean-Japanese relations, sir.

And BTW, thanks for your comments. So I guess I belong here now, hm?  :D

Where did this image go? Am I the only one that can't see it anymore?

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Sorry, I'm reorganizing my website and that means I'm changing the file structure. There are going to be quite a few broken images from me I'm afraid.

I fixed that one though.
