Mate, I didn't notice the artifacting... In fact I still can't really see it.

But I know it's there! :P

Besides, it might become more visible if I changed the colors. Mostly it's just that I'm convinced there has to be a better way of doing things than the one I'm using.

I've got an addition to the program-list. I hope, it is still updated...

Alchemy - An experimental drawing program, very usable for inspiring yourself with chaos or doing little sketches.

I'd like to submit the beginnings of a sketch - I'm trying to get myself familiar with a tablet.

alchemy is not a drawing tool. i get it you're doing those stuff for fun, but using the gimp would get you better results, and you probably should study a bit of actual anatomy before starting to use alchemy to corrupt it. that said, i kinda like the last creature, tough the arms are a bit dull and awkward

THIS. It applies heavily to style too; obviously one can do what they wish for drawings from imagination, but there are too many who dive headfirst into something like an anime style and practice nothing but. Studies should be occupied with true, real anatomy.

Learn the rules before you break them :)

Not specifically directed at you, Antsan; I like your little drawings right there! I may investigate this alchemy for sketching and idea purposes.

I've drawn on paper before and I sticked to natural human anatomy, but those are first in the realm of computer 2D art. But thanks for mentioning anyway.

@Askot: I was going to complain about how I don't get along with the Gimp but even a short session did quite a number on the right hand of my zombie. I'm going to continue with that. Thanks a lot!

Antsan: Maybe add some stuff to make the neck look like it can move? The tendons look dark and rigid, like he'd have to move his whole body to look around.

Looks slightly better when shrunk:

I was inspired last night at church by a video that was played. I didn't get that good a look at it because I was playing drums at the time but it was enough to give me some inspiration. Today I whipped ouot my tablet and quickly sketched this.

c&c is appreciated!

Red Fortune greatly disapproves of soft brushes, he does.

It's difficult to give critique on an image that is essentially thirty seconds in Photoshop with a soft low-opacity brush.  It's nice that you want to contribute to the thread but I'm having a hard time understanding why a lot of images are being posted, they seem more like extremely rough sketches or concept images than finished pieces.

I apologise if I sound like an asshole, I'm just a bit confused.

Usually when someone posts that, it means they know they will sound like an asshole.

Something is better than nothing, at least that's what i think, it keeps the thread alive, and, sometimes we recieve comments that help improving our techniques.

And it is better to post here than to spam the forum with "Look i've drawn a dwarf! it is ugly sry XD" threads.
