Nice! Looks sort of Van Gogh style! :)

Those lines are so very very uncertain and busy and the values are confusing, I can't decipher the form very easily.

Don't just use a black brush, colour pick some values and paint them around with large brushes. Give the figure an overall pass of lighting and keep everything distinct.

That's why I like it.
To each his own, I guess.

And then we look at your pictures and we see...
The same type of marks just with color, and a little better detail.

It's not a competition: a lot of times the best critiques come from people who are still trying to learn as well.

Ow... :\

Was that necessary?

I agree, of course, and indistinctness can be great, but it's better to be well thought out and apply techniques so as to not confuse the viewer in a way you don't want to.

Guys relax, it was done in 15 minutes with a mouse, it's supposed to look bad and messy, plus it's really rare for me to color stuff.
Now, i have some more stuff, this time it's sketches, also a cowboy :D

Hippoman, if you want to offer critique, the rule for this thread is to offer it constructively. You're welcome to stay if you can handle that.

Jopax: I'm digging the second one the most for its simplicity. The shadow-forms on the face and body make it strong in a graphic/comic kind of way. I think you could do solid shadows on the cape and hat as well and make the whole thing a lot more dramatic.

I like the last image as well. I think if you start placing your figures into simple environments and work on lighting a bit more then they will tighten up a lot and things like weight and 3d form will come naturally.
