Yes, I suppose I should go over them like I originally thought.

not that i'm complaining, i always support alternative envisionings of classical fantasy creatures, but that dwarf looks a bit...tall. and i mean proportionally, not talking about the pic size.

hehe, thanks for noticing.

I think its because he lacks the bulk, which the cave-dwelling, rock-mining and metal forging dwaves usually have. His ancestors also lacked the selective pressure for short stature, which cave-dwarves were more or less subject to.

I did try to nuanciate diffrences.

New-Valran is in fact a hilltop town founded by those exiled from Valran. They were exiled by the overly-religious government for having seen 'what lays beyond'.

i like the way he looks bronze-ageish, i've allways been more interested in anciet history oriented fantasy than medieval history

I went over the lines on my tyrannosaurus ( ignore the edge of the paper down the bottom):

The feet are too small, and I think it would probably look better if he was more intimidating, maybe roaring at the viewer, having his mouth hanging open, or maybe if the eyes looked a bit angrier. Other then that, it looks cool.

I was actually looking at just then and thought the same thing, the feet are a bit too small. It's only a sketch though, so maybe once I can get the anatomy down right I'll do one with a better pose.

Edit: Work in progress of a front on tyrannosaurus:

I think it's going well, although I'm having trouble with the angle of the body. If anyone comes across a picture similar to mine I would appreciate it. I'm also a bit stuck on the inside of the mouth, I have no idea how to do it - I may have to do some shading, which I'm not very good at.

yeah, when it comes to fleshy bits on dinosaurs it's best to take references from a lizard or such and fill in the blanks.

For T-rex I'd probably suggest Crotaphytus collaris or collared lizards, as the mouth type are similar, or you can look around to find what you like.

It looks good, although the angleing of it's leg is off, along with size and shape and some breaking as to the range of movement for parts of the body.
The most helpful thing I can tell you it to build the limb placement off spine and hip placement.
If thats where you want the body and tail you have to rework the leg and lower hip and or vise versa.
Also I think the neck could use some alterations, along with some other minor things.
Apart from those you have to make the upper front teeth larger then the back and larger then they are now, as closeness and bones dictate. (if you were to flip the size on the top from large in front to smaller in back that'd work)

It takes time to get things to work under anatomy, expecially if you draw parts before you work anatomy.

I think the head looks too big, even for a tyrannosaurus. Also the neck is too wide and should be less blocky. The tail looks really weird.I think you should completely redraw the tail.

OmnipotentGrue I want to see you draw a person (in any pose) made of balls, cylinders, cubes, and whatever else you think you need, you can use references like skeletons and pictures of people ect. but detail like hair and clothes are not necessary but the more detail you put into shape the better. This is to test your shaped anatomy skills just so I can help you best. (I learned that anatomy is an important thing for art)
