Blah, holidays finally numerous assessments over, yay, it feels extremely odd and surprising, because I actually have free time now.

Over the break, I'm going to aim for something like 6+ hours a day drawing on average, tough call, but worth it, and that's about how much of it I can fit in. Woah, this is so weird, I've even made a schedule for the holidays... In haiku form....

Awesome sketches Lofn.

Alright, here's progress on the painting I was doing sketches for - I think it's working so far, much to my surprise.

There isn't much depth of color yet, but that'll come as I add more layers.

Hoo boy.  Never decide to start a new project at midnight, folks.  For ages I've wanted to do a comic of some sort, and playing Kobold Camp in preperation for DF2010 has given me adequate material for one.  They do some really damn stupid things, those kobolds.

I gave them tails and horns because I wanted to emphasize that they're not just gnolls, and because I added both to my version of Kobold Camp.  They're very rough, but they give a general idea of the style.

When Kobold Camp 2010 comes out, I'm gonna mod my kobolds to have horns and tails as well...

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that Kobolds have digitigrade legs.

I'm not actually, although I would, if only I had something to use as such. If I had some masking fluid, I could get some better foam effects by spattering it, but I haven't had the chance to buy any yet. Hopefully when I do the final version of this painting I'll have some on my hands, as that'll simplify the whole process.

LOFN! your kobold pictures inspired me to draw one myself.

EFFIGIES KOBOLD

I never really imagined kobolds resembling gnolls that much. Mine tend to look like ratmen.

DWARF FORTRESS KOBOLD

(The main difference between the two being that DF kobolds are smaller, more savage/reptilian, and lack tails)
