Ah yes, I don't really recall much of him from the Hobbit since it is a while since I last read it.

Did he have any lines in the Hobbit, though? He's pretty tangential to the plot.

he was mentioned in passing as the reason why they couldn't go south of mirkwood, and that's about it.

The movie will cover the war against him as well, which only happened off-screen in the book. I don't think there actually was anything else than a few sentences by Gandalf near the end.

Gah. Ninja'd. But i'll say it anyway.

They're expanding on that, and showing other things that are happening and have happened prior to the events of the book. AFAIK, anyway.

I don't see a problem with the hands. Left shoulder might be too wide, especially for a female.

Breast are big to the point of seeming unnatural.

Left foot looks twisted. Essentially, the foot seems to have two ankles that are conveniently hidden behind the right leg.

Sorry, tried to get my point across with so few words as possible. Made a very crude edit to your picture to show you what I mean:

It's a dwarflike humanoid! At least he has a ponytail.

I'm still working on the design for this character, while practicing dynamic looking poses.  The arms seem off to me, but I've been looking at the picture so much that I can't tell if it's my imagination or not.

I think the most glaring problem is her upper torso. Tulx said that the shoulders are too wide, but I think they're just oriented wrong. Judging from the shoulders, her upper body doesn't really seem to be twisting at all.

What he said about the legs seems about right, although I can't say I would actually have noticed that myself.

Also Tulx your image has a cursor in it. Did you doodle over that thing and then take a screenshot instead of saving? :D

Yes I did:D I don't even have a image editing program on my laptop so I just uploaded it to some online image editing webpage and then couldn't be bothered to find out how to save and download.

Ogdibus thanks for the input. I didn't really plan forward when I was drawing it so I just made an excuse in my mind that he's wearing leather armor on the torso. If I get around to improving it I'll probably draw a new picture altogether. About the shield binding to two points - another improvisation.

e: http://www.posemaniacs.com/archives/1290 This was the reference I was using, however the figure is already in a show-off awkward unnatural pose. Not that I was really paying attention too much either.
