Why is the sun in front of the clouds?

Also it could probably afford to be a brighter orange.
Herp De Derp is why.
How I missed something so fundamental is baffling.
Now if I could stop facepalming I could go and change it.

Doublepost! I put better looking clouds in (and they're in front of the sun) and I made the sun a brighter color.

Oohh.. this is much better. looks like a sun now, and not a giant fuzzy ball nestled betwixed the hills.

I had an idea like that too.  It might not work with the style, but it would be great practice to make it work.  I'd probably have to use blender's node system or something.

Since my illustrated forum adventure failed due to my choice of art style, I've decided I will make a sci-fi webcomic based on what I had planned originally. Here's the main character design:

Anything that is horribly wrong? Comments and criticisms are appreciated.

Those are all good points. I'll have to note some minor changes for later.

I went for a shoulderless design, so there is a sudden drop there giving it a point at the shoulder. In retrospect it does look like Exile's shoulders.

I need to change the weapon a bit. While it isn't ballistic, it should be obvious from the first glance. I need to add something like a charge meter, or a removable battery to help make it evident.

What type of personality do you plan on giving this character (which I assume will be the protagonist)?  Is he (it?) going to be the smart and savvy type, or the just trying to survive while being thrusted into a grand quest type of thing?  That's what the design seems to suggest to me; if you plan on him being a big badass, I'd go with a bit thicker limbs or metal plating.

Also, another landscape blender thing, this time with ripply water! I call it "Troubles a-Brewing"

EDIT: Added my new blender thing.

I'd say thrusted into the world kind of thing. If you read my illustrated suggestion game, it was more of an amnesiac trying to figure out what was happening. In the webcomic I'm making, the world basically has fallen apart from what he remembers, and now he has to survive in a dangerous city. I wanted the robot to look agile, but not really weak looking.

For your blender landscape, it looks good, with the exception of the background. Without a rolling mist effect on the horizon the background has too sudden a change from clear seas to solid fog.

If you were going for agile, you nailed it.
Also, thanks for the input on my blender thing.  I'll be fixing that right away.
