I know we are all dwarves here, but drawing the sky really is okay sometimes.

I really need to write myself a note to upload the Cave Story T-Shirt I made, which after doing so, I played lazer tag. It was amazing.

Still working on that picture. Now clean(er) line art with beginnings of shading.

The poses seem... static somehow. Like egyptian engravings. 2D.

Ah, I know: it's the composition. Nothing is occluding anything else. Let the tail go behind the spotter, let the lower right foreground wall cover a few toes and the gun muzzle, stuff like that? Disclaimer: I can't draw for shit.

Apparently having unstable poses (as in poses that would make people fall over etc. when still) makes them look like they're in motion.

Nobody has such a pose there.

Oh and the left guy's leg looks twisted. Turn it a bit.

The little cat creature doesn't really seem to be interacting with the big cat creature's shoulders. And I think Siquo might be on to something here; none of the characters are really interacting with each other or the background, making everything look sort of stiff.

Some good advice here, too bad I didn't get to see it earlier in the day. So, more of the same so far:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The scene was largely an afterthought, and so more or less designed not to occlude the characters. I'll see if I can fix that. I was considering moving the spotter elsewhere (not much sense for him to be standing where he does), so if I do that the space to the left will be empty and I'll probably shift the others to the left as well.

Any critique not related to composition? I'm trying proper shadows again, so there're bound to be errors there.

Move the spotter completley to the right, so he's behind that wall and the sniper to the back, but then you'd have to twist his head and i don't think he could survive that XD
Shadows seem fine, are you planning on any directional light or just the usual drop shadows from above?
In other news, another enviroment, again for the tribes game:

Yeah Jopax, that's what I was thinking for the spotter's placement as well. So, some repositioning later...

I think that looks a little better. I'm not really sure whether the wall should be obscuring the gun's barrel or not though. Also now there's this big empty space under the window. I was thinking a desk... maybe a sofa... what's normal to have standing under a window with blinds?

You should really have that guy crouching.

I'm not sure whether or not crouching would make sense for the guy. If he hides behind the wall, you won't be able to tell who he is, let alone what he's doing. He's also there mostly to provide a meaningful size reference to a normal human, so I don't want to obscure him too much.

Hmm, now the perspective is a bit borked, notice how the left and right walls don't align properly?
The whole background should be reworked i think

Not the whole background... just the fore-background, the two broken brick walls in the left and lower center/right. I'll see what I can do. At least it's all in layers.

The part that always strikes me as wrong when I see it is the small mii'ari's incongruous pose; mostly the (its) right foot looks like it's bracing against something to stay up, yet the ground says the wall is too far away and there's nothing else there. Perhaps moving the knee to (our) right a bit, or bringing the knee up and bracing the foot on the shoulder (where if you handle the minor flesh distortion the two will mesh a lot better and remove any conceptions of floating) will work.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.
