@Solifuge: I love the detailwork on the face. There's enough to look good but not so much that the drawing becomes busy. I just hope you're aware that guy's face is really wide. He has the longest forehead ever.

Why don't you just retexture the sash to have the design you want, instead of modeling another sash and trying to bend it around the current one? Or do you absolutely have to have this thing wrapped on top of the original?

Also, Blender's interface is a confusing mess.

Yeah, but so is Dwarf Fortress's, so I don't think that's a big deal to most of us here.

No, I have to physically bend the thing in all three dimensions. I've mostly been doing detail-work around the edges to make it look nice, but now I think I know how I'll manually bend it. Thanks guys, I guess.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

It was supposed to dissolve into abstracta... partially because I can't draw the tops of heads, but mostly because the image in my head was one of surreality, shamanism, and dreams. I was also going for a wide, old, somewhat fat face as well, hence the chins.

I mostly say that because when I see those squiggly lines at the sides, I assume those are the sides of his head. The parts that curve outward slightly look like ears.

Maybe it's just me. It's only the forehead that's too wide, and it doesn't look so freakishly out of proportion that I wouldn't accept this face as human. It's certainly very nice for a doodle made at work on an order ticket, I'd just work on drawing tops of heads and making them look nice.

Reminds me of Xenogears for some reason.

Love the lighting, the smoke near his feet needs some more work though.

I don't think it's smoke, it looks more like rubble.

Yah, it was supposed to be rubble but by the time i got to it i kinda lost the spark there so i just touched up the shiny and left it at that. And since that is often the case with many of my works the legs end up shitty(i tend to go from top to bottom when doing charachters)

Sorry for the radio silence, I've been busting lately trying to get started selling oil paintings. I've been painting everyday.

I decided to do a process video today. The painting for it came out okay for a quick one like that, but I will probably more work into it before I try and sell it.

Anyways - I thought you guys might like to see how I paint.

(PS I'll try to stay centered in the next one, didn't have anyone around to direct me...)

I think you need some more hard edges in the forest there. The shapes are a bit vague so it doesn't really look like trees yet.

This looks a lot like my desk is sometimes. It also looks like there's something wrong with the paper fold and the grapefruit position. (I can't watch the video on this computer.)

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

I'm trying to get used to my new tablet. Here's some pics to show what I'm capable of right now, since I haven't posted in a while:
