I see, let me try and amend this.

Edit:

Better? I stood up against a shelf and posed like that for the previous picture, but I didn't take much notice of my back - I think this is pretty much what was going on with my back when I checked this time.

Edit 2: I think the torso is on a weird angle.

No, the back should be curved.

And legs are a bit skinneh, but I guess you don't really care as you're going for posture,

What do you mean by curved? Curve it outwards?

His back should bend forward a bit.

Is his left arm resting on the surface behind him?
If so it's too long and out of perspective, move it closer to the body, so its at a bigger angle to the table

The knees appear to be at different heights, and the right knee is a bit too far down, anyway. Knees are approximately in the middle of the leg.
Right leg connects to the body in a weird place. Move a bit more to the right, at the moment it looks a little weird. Or it isn't thick enough. Either way, it's wrong, somehow.
You really got some thin limbs there, anyway. But they are mostly fine.
The neck's too thin (and that's from someone with an animesque art style >.<), it isn't really at the middle line, too.
I also agree that the upper part of the upper body should be a bit more curved towards behind him. The human spine's an S form, therefore the back is a bit curved as well.

Awesome, this is all good stuff guys. I'll probably work on it again tomorrow, as well as some more different ones.

Edit: Wait, the neck is too thin? It seems like an okay size to me, and it is pretty much in the middle from what I can see. The dark line down the middle was just a sort of stickman guide, there is another faint line to the right of that (sorry about that faintness in some parts, I tend to do that when drawing).

I mean, it's on the wrong side. (>_<) Generally, if you have a character leaning on something to the left like that, the neck should be a tiny bit towards the left as well.

Righto. At the beginning of summer I asked for a way to get back into drawing. Somebody posted the most useful advice of taking a month-long program of a sketching schedule to help refine my skills to the point where I'm not ashamed of them.
I didn't do it the whole summer, much for the reason I posted in the sad thread about how the first step is the most difficult one. A step whose difficulty seemed beyond me because my mind either justified a reason to not start or my enthusiasm just dying as it hits that wall. Last week after a day of classes I suppose my mind was impressionable from the tiredness, so I took out my spiral notebook and just started to sketch what was on the bus and what was outside. I remembered gesture drawings were good studies so I did a few of them as well as some small hand studies.

This isn't so much posted my first attempts in so very long for critique(Although it is much appreciated) as much as forming a habit of doing this work and posting it for improvement. Hopefully from this post I'll form that habit.

Spoiler: So here is the work (click to show/hide)

I do what I do in pen because I cannot fight the urge to go back and erase.

Only way to get better at something is to keep doing it I guess.

My excuse the last few months? Well... my tablets USB cord is unplugged. Everytime I feel the urge to do some sketching I look down at the USB ports and go
"Oh, right... its not plugged in. Let's go dorf around instead."    :D
