Also I found a decent colored pencil process video if you do decide to go that route: Here.

Is that building supposed to look really small (sorry, I'm not sure what that building is)?

Reminds me of something from one of those weird 90s graphical text adventures.

I'm working on something new. I call it Utopia. It's a post-apocalyptic planet populated by 2 sentient groups:

The Madmen: Your run-of-the-mill scavenger tribes, basic hierarchy, actually fairly intelligent. Like the Marauders in Red Faction Guerilla.

The Civilizeers: The half that came out on top. The Civilizeers are comparable to the EDF. They have larger populations in areas, larger living areas, a basic government worked out from the ruin of the old one, and better supplies.

Then you have your mutated/already there beasts like the Sandworms, and packs of feral Aeries (more on them later).

Weapons:

Diplomat: Civilizeer Sniper Rifle
Peacemaker: Civilizeer Shotgun
Enforcer: Civilizeer SMG
More to come.

Grinder: Madman unique weapon.
Meatstick: 'Nother unique weapon.
More to come.

Vehicles:

Bike Variants:
Scavbike: Light, fast, good for scavenging
Lazbike: Heavy, armored, good for firefights, equipped with lazcannon
Hoverbike: Hovering bike, not very many due to limited amounts of undamaged hover engines being left after the Apocalypse.
Spikebike: Madman special, it's a sekert

More vehicles to come.

Expect artwork to follow! I'm done with a still of a Madman riding a scavbike, a still of a scavbike, and a couple of the weapons. I have an animation of the intro, and several Madmen fighting a Sandworm.

Thanks for the advice guys, i think my biggest problem yet is my laziness, the fact that most of my stuff is just quick doodles because i can't bring myself to finish anything that takes over an hour of work.Anyway, i decided to color that castle waterfall thing from before, it turned out ok, altough i killed the castle, it was ugly :)

Laziness? Pheh, laziness is a choice, crush it like the pitiful little creature it is!

Less reluctance to colour, good! But now you should start observing (possibly photos for this kinda thing) scenes for the actual colours. Grass may look green, but it isn't a fully saturated green, as an example.

Well the only thing i had reference for was the sky, and that was looking out the window, it was too hard to get up and look at the color of the grass XD

Jopax, maybe try pushing your value contrast a bit more.  Everything is very high-key, there.

Theoretically, you can see it if you look west at sunrise.

Also that picture would potentially look much better if you considered drawing sky / rocks / grass / trees on different layers (and maybe using as well some extra detail layers), it would enable you to get the edges nicer a bit easier. I mean, if you are digitally painting, you may as well use the tools at your disposal?

And please keep going, your keeping the guild ticking over single handedly :)

I intended to make it multilayer but it went all screwey after i tried to paint under stuff on a layer that's above it :)

A sky can also look darker near the horizon if there are clouds overhead. Not the fluffy clouds, the sky-covering ones.

The rocks don't seem to interact with the grass in any meaningful way.
