It would be very interesting to see if you were still say that when you lost all your money and a means to get more due to events beyond your control.  Scientifically speaking of course.  I don't know you well enough to know whether I'd wish something like that on you.  So at what age should people's money and ambition to acquire it decide whether they live or die?

Explain to me, a situation where you are so poor you can't work where you deserve the right to continue living and I'll give you a person charitable enough to take you in.  Explain to me, a situation where there are no shelters to live in until you get on your feet.  (I have no problem with charitable people, only greedy people expecting charity and using the government to do it.)

What does age have to do with it?  At some point in your life, your family will cut you off and leave you on your own.  That's the way of life.  If they decide to help you out in hard times, then that's their charity... not mine.  We are all animals.  Animals do die before their full life.  That's natural selection at work.  If your family cut you off because they failed to bring you up to lead a proper life, then that genetic pool is better left dead.

You're trying to apply natural selection to justify a social attitude, that's Social Darwinism. Social Darwinism is at it's core a fundamental misunderstanding of the basic ideas of natural selection.  You take something that is simply a force of nature, and try to attach social values to it.  That's just neither here nor there.  It's basically the same as saying that tornadoes hate poor people because they tear apart trailer parks so well.

Well, I won't pretend I know anything about healthcare, but if I understand you correctly, in some cases, the worth of a human being (whether he is worth being kept alive) should be determined by his capability to earn money in our society (what you are calling natural selection) ? If so, that's pretty stupid. Firstly, because obviously money hasn't got anything to do with actual worth in nearly every case I can think of. And because yeah, we're animals alright, but it doesn't mean we should look at what's killing everybody, name it "natural selection" and not give a shit anymore. We aren't obligated to let luck chose who lives and who dies, wait a million years, and be a little smarter because billions of guys were slaughtered, trial & error style. I don't want evolution to guide us towards "the asshole who can put his hands on money and pay for the hospital fees", I'd much rather have the weak, totally unable to concentrate for two hours, cancerous guy who reads Nietzsche survive, and I don't give a crap if half your goddamn country has to give up television for it.

Then maybe you only care about yourself (which I would understand by the way), but in this case, correct me if I'm wrong, I guess you'll have enough money to get through easily even with all this socialism going on.

Nobody has enough money with all this socialism going on.  If we continue down this path, we will all suffer the fate of Idiocracy because frankly, if I'm going to get free health care, there's no real point for me to succeed in life so I may as well just make enough money for food and rent since everyone else will be forced to pay for my hospital visits.  I may as well collect food stamps for what that matters... then I really don't have to work or contribute to society.  After I buy a plot of land, I guess I can go into Springer mode and sit around watching TV and eating peanut butter all day long.  There woud be no point working harder just to give all my money so someone else can do that instead.

All I can say is that we are in for a world of hurt if this goes through because it definitely won't make me want to work harder, and I KNOW I'm not alone.  I could sit and play games all day long and let someone else pay for it and not feel a bit of regret.  Hope you enjoy paying for my stuff.
