>Attempt to listen, learn their language..._

You listen carefully to what the two humans are saying. using the information from your mothers genetic memorys, you figure out that either the adult human, female, is mad at the child for leaving without telling anyone, or he's late for his meeting with the salmon gorillas. whatever that means.

>meow_

A dragons vocal cords aren't capable of such a feat!

>do one of those cliche Movie T_Rex roars._

you muster up the mightiest roar possible. unfortunately, it comes out more of a high-pitched shrieking sound than a roar. the female human glances at the you, then the boy. she then strides over to your cage picks it up and moves towards the house you saw earlier. she puts you down on a table and goes into another room where you can see a large male human. after exchanging some brief conversation they go back into the room you're in to take a look at you.

>look at the door to the cage_

the door appears just as strong as the rest of the cage. however on the outside of the door is a metal latch holding the door shut.
the cage is made of iron now that you're actually taking the time to investigate it.

What kind of world is this that no one seems even remotely surprised that a kid brought a baby dragon home? :o
Also, search genetic memory, what all do we know?

Make a normal dragon hatchling sound, alot, for at least 2 minutes, then go to sleep if no one cares.

be cute!
Seconded! Look irresistibly adorable!
Also, looks sad, mop into a corner of the cage away from the big scary humans and hide your head under your wing in hope that if you can't see them, they can't see you either.

>be cute!_

You act as cute as possible. the humans seem to calm down a little and put you in a loft/attic. they leave before you can act sad.

>search genetic memory_

you search your genetic memory and this is what you know about dragons: they have genetic memories inherited from their parents, they will inherit some of their parents powers as they get older, they can gain new powers by prolonged exposure due to magic items, any respectable dragon has a large and valuable treasure hoard, almost everything that can come from dragons has some magic properties, all dragons will eventually gain telepathy and possibly other psychic powers, dragon hatchlings are extremely valuable.

>poke at the latch_

after a few minutes of pushing and shoving the latch comes undone. the door swings open.
