No, fry and eat the basilisk.

Maybe we can get it's power that way.

Note:A dead basilisk probably loses its power,  threfore no longer magical
By the way, whats better than a dragon and basilisk team?

A dragon with the powers of a basilisk.
So keep it around until we get it's power, then kill it.

And im sure eye patches don't fit on a basilisk.

tell the basilisk the eye is worthless to us, and an ally is much more useful than a useless eye. Together we can both have vengeance for the indignities we have been put through.

Are we greedy? Dragons usually have massive hoards, but is that simply the result of their age, or are we going to be compulsively drawn to gold?

We might want to have a vote as to what to do with the basilisk.

Isn't it worthless to the basilisk too?

in my world that involves dragons, basilisks can reattach there eyes. it's why he even hinted that he might want it back at all.

>give basilisks eye back and ally with him and free him_

"I have no need for riches or favors. All I wanted is the blood of my wrong-doers , and I am very rich in that today. If you think that all I care for is foolish material goods, then you can continue in thinking that, but may today you be proven wrong"
you throw the basilisk his eye back.
he scoops it up with his tail and puts it back in the socket. while he is doing this you move over to the guard and take his keys to unlock the basilisks cell.
he slithers out and looks at you. "i sssssee." he hisses. he goes back into his cell and takes out a stone from the wall. it was shaped like a childs toy top, having a flat circular surface on top of a cone twisted into a corkscrew. he hands this strange object to you. "here" he says. "if you want the blood of your wrong-doerssss, then take this upstairsssss to the ringmasssssters room. the rest should be ssssself explanatory. before you assssk, no. i have no intention of becoming your little basssilisssk chum." he quickly slithers away, you give chase, but the basilisk disappears around a corner and you lose sight of him.
