Did you notice you don't have burns anymore?

Minor injuries will heal on their own.

I head over to the librarian and begin to tell hilarious jokes.
(3 + .5=3.5)You head over to the librarian and whisper a joke about a stern, holier-than-thou wizard. A small smile cracks on his face, but he tells you to remain quiet in the library. Maybe if you catch him off work, he will be more receptive.

Continue to Study Arcane Theory
I return to the acadamy, find Ragnok, and study Arcane Theory with him. Maybe together we can figure it out.
5: After finding Ragnok studying in the library, Nurir asks if he could help him out with some of the concepts he doesn't understand. Ragnok willingly agrees, and they begin going over the basic concepts. Ragnok gains a little better understanding of them as he teaches, too. It seems studying together has a positive effect on the learning environment...

2: Together, you begin studying the advanced concepts. They are still very confusing.

1: Nope. Not doing any better with the advanced concepts. Maybe a tutor would come in handy...

Ragnok: +2 to Magical Theory

I'll continue looking for my own mercenary work.
2: Z. Chris sees Kilalan walking around in the market place. Z. Chris calls him over and asks if he wants to come along. Kilakan agrees, and they begin making preparations so set out. However, not much seems to get done.

3: After a while everything gets packed up and the two companions are ready to set out. They head south towards the gate. Upon exiting, they see a large road heading south, then splitting into two roads farther down. One leads southeast, towards the Hamlet of Bambur, and and one leads southwest. Off the road is mostly open plains, though a few space trees are scattered around.

How do you guys want passage of time to work in this game? Hunger? Food and water? I never really thought about setting any sort of rules out for those...

Keep going.  Southeast, once we reach the split.

Nope, nothing.  Just handwave it.  Unless we are in survival type situations, then come up with something.

Sounds fun. I'm still deciding if I want to pursue immortality via creating some sort of magical chamber that re-creates my body when destroyed, or via turning into a lich though.

I read through various books, trying to learn more runes.

I don't know if food/water are really necessary. Though, I think we can keep the timescale at an arbitrary unit.

I can see in the future having to deal with food/water bogging the game down (especially once we all become wizards)

Onto my action:

The librarian looks like an intelligent enough fellow, so I ask him about the surrounding area.
"Say, if I were going to build a castle somewhere around here, where do you suppose it should be?"

Note that any attempt at immortality would be considered a Complex Action, no matter how skilled you are. In addition, skill alone will not be enough to complete any transition to immortal status.

That's fine, though you will be unable to become immortal through pure strength alone. If you do not wish to study magic, I suggest acquainting yourself with several of the various deities in the game.

EDIT:
Also, note that I don't expect anyone to become immortal for a long, long time, even if a lucky roll tells them exactly how to do it. Thus, I wouldn't concern yourselves will running off and interrogating people about ancient magic just yet.

EDIT2:
Keep in mind that only 4 of the 8 schools of magic have been discovered so far.

Also: I would agree with time, but not food or water. Perhaps 1 hour per turn.
