Evolution
« on: September 14, 2009, 12:30:37 pm »

In the beginning there was nothing on the desolate world. But then there was fire and the surface changed. Magma changed the surface and soon new features scared the land. The fire cooled and then it rained. For many years the rain lasted, until soon water formed into great oceans. It was in the oceans that the first life formed.

Ok, so I am doing the pseudo equivalent of a GameFAQs spore game(now extinct)

The rules are simple:
1. The forum community chooses one of the options I give them. Later, I will give you the other option where you can enter your own actions.
2. I will be running 2 private games with 2 people that PM me. Its first come first serve, so send those app's in
3. You change your creature during evolution stages. More on that below.
4. I have ultimate authority. You may not like results, but that was already going to happen when you chose it

Evolutions
1.You are restricted to a certain amount of evolutions per evolution period
2.You have EP(Evolution Points) based on your complexity
3.Each Evolution is assigned a certain amount of EP to Evolve
4.EP resets every evolution period.

Example Evolution Period
EP:5
Evolutions:
Example Ev 1:3 EP
Example Ev 2:3 EP
Example Ev 3:2 EP
Example Ev 4:5 EP

Possible Evolutions:
1.Ev1+Ev3
2.Ev2+Ev3
3.Ev4

I need a suggested species name also people(In Binomial Nomenclature). Make up a name If you want to.

If you are asking to be in a private game, then you both are in

By the way... I SAID Pm me.

Jetsquirrel, that can be your common name. Give me a name like... Homo Sapien(Scientific name for humans)

Also, you start as a cell, so no omnivore yet(waiting to see if more people are interested before I start turn 1.)

If you'll forgive me for being a nomenclature nazi, the genus is always capitalized, the species is not.  Also, both are italicized.  Thus, Homo sapiens, Gorilla gorilla, or Deinotherium giganteum.  I wouldn't mention it, but it was beaten into me by every professor I ever had.  I can't help it, really.  I'm a product of my conditioning.

Ok people, I am canceling the private games because of a sudden increase in workload. Sorry

Turn 1.

If an alien scientist looked upon the world, he would find that It was filled with life not worth studying.

Yet if you looked in the sea, one could find a organism as insignificant as the rest. Yet the processes of evolution were taking place, and soon, It reached to a nutrient rich enviorment.

In this enviorment, one would find both free-floating Amino Acids and those attached to the surface of rocks.

Now tell me viewer, what do you think the cell will do?

Name:(unknown)
Size:.001 (average Prokayote)
Intelligence:0(you can't see the whole stats screen yet)
Complexity:1(You have 1 Evolution Point, about as complex as a rock)

A. Eat some of the Freefloating Amino Acids(Unlocks Heterotroph, Locks Geovore: Easy Path)
B. Dissolve some amino acids on the rocks(Unlocks Geovore, Locks Heterotroph: Easy Path and Autotroph, Easy Path.)

I need a name. Give me a common name and I will assign a scientific name.

Advantages of Heterotroph:
1. You can become a autotroph later on.
2. A heterotroph gets more energy from food(creature age)
Disadvantages:
1. You have to find food
2.You may have to fight for your food
Advantages of Geovore:
1. You can get food almost anywhere
Disadvantages
1:Being a geovore means you get less energy from food
2.May impead tribal age progress due to little nutrition in the ground.

Note: The enviorment will get more description when you get better senses(incedentally, this is a stat you can't see yet)

I'd have to say....

A. It'd be better in the long-run, and we can use the extra energy givin from it. I also like the prospect of becoming an autotroph. Plants shall conquer this pitiful planet!

... Scratch that last thought, we can't get nukes if we are plants. We'd also be extremely slow.

As for the name, I say it shall be Underwar, for we shall mine minerals under the world to continue war.

Or, even better. I vote we shall call this creature a Dwarf.

Well, we can't be a plant, and eating rocks is good for everyone.

Well, we can't be a plant, and eating rocks is good for everyone.

We'll be a heterotroph. Eats other organisms, not at all a plant (aka Autotroph). Rocks will eventually be drained of nutrients, so we'll HAVE to basically kill planets just to survive...

Tenticles Demons would want to preserve the planet for... other things.

Oh fine, but if we eat the *other things* you'll make them cry.
