There is a correction to be made here, but as I do not have firsthand knowledge of this SC3, I am not qualified to make it.  Perhaps someone could spot this possible correction and make it in my stead?

as for that link about canon stuff. i say that if it has a name that is the same and implies that it is a sequel of some sort, or is placed in the same universe, then its canon.....

but for all reasons and purposes, SC3 is and was a sequel. It followed up upon what happend to The Captain. AND the Precursors....

just because it was done by a different company does not mean that it is not canon. hell thats what happened to Fallout Three with Bethesda and Interplay(and that was after Interplay sacked the Developers [aka Black Isles], and that became a Game of the Year.

so, it still is a game that is canon. and follows up on the story. give me an examlple of a game that has all the facts right and continues a story so deeply, but is considered non-canonical, obviously excluding SC3 which you think isnt canon.

see, even i use spoilers...tho i still say another game would be kickass. unless it revolved around oldskool graphics.

buy as many spathi ships as you can before they slave shield, it's worth it, but keep away from ur-quan ships until you pimp your capital ship

Either pimp your capital ship, or recruit Utwig ships. At least I think you can recruit them eventually. Ur-Quan ships aren't that overpowered, its just that you tend to get the harder to use ships in story mode. Cept the Orz.

I cannot defeat the Marauder attacking the Zoq-Fot-Pik. I think I would be able to if I can get the homing weapon upgrade, but I don't have enough time. I spent too long looking for biodata everywhere (and I found them, but couldn't collect any due to hostile atmospheres). I like those little guys.

Anyone thinks the tech upgrade orders are messed up?

The lander upgrades (especially those for hostile environments) are rather late in the list; and you want to mine early on. And it's a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem... you need lander upgrades to mine efficiently, but you can't get lander upgrades until you can mine lots of biodata. There's not much hints about the rainbow worlds until you stumble upon them. And there's too much systems in the game for the time limit you're given (e.g. ZFP quest).

Orz - I just stumble into them in hyperspace. I was thinking about killing another probe for 550 RU actually.
Ship captain told me about two neutral races the Chenjesu mentioned before, but I couldn't find them.
VUX and Illwrath

Buying tech seems much more important then info... without the lander techs you can't get anything from the traders without spending an astronomical amount of time and lots of fuel exploring (and mostly return empty-handed due to hostile environment).

I think I'm going to practice killing Marauder with Cruiser and Eluder in super melee... then I'll start a new game. I want to save the ZFP. With better recon data (from my current game) hopefully I can do it next time.

The Ilwrath give you a tip about one of the races, at least with one of the initial dialogue options in the first fight with one.
