I just remembered my other complaint. No matter how many ships you destroy, there is no effect on the game. Never.

That's not entirely true. If you destroy 25 Thraddash ships, you can

get them as allies.

But yes, other than that, you're right.

I figure that it's just assumed that the total amount of damage that any one person can do (even if you destroy dozens of ships) to an entire stellar civilization is negligable.... even if this is somewhat twisted by the fact that a single Khor-ah or Ur-Quan ship can apparently take out the entire Zot-Fot-Pik race.

Well that is because they have already been pushed back to their homeworld due to the war raging around them that destroyed all their colonies. The ship then starts bombarding their homeworld so yeh if it kills everyone on there as the kohr-ah do then they would be gone forever.

Typhoon strikes, and I get the morning to myself. The typhoon's going away, so it's most likely I'll be back at work this afternoon.

I tried to contact ZEX, but failed to find him. I only find lots of VUX to fight. Since they spawn near me, I took quite a hit despite trying to move immediately. I reloaded.

Then I tried to contact the ZFP again, since I've got max. speed now. I managed to outrun the enemies and forged an alliance.

On the way back, the Ozz (sp?) came and I accepted their offer too.

Tonight I'll try to find the source of the probes... then I'll try to get more tech... I really want to mine those hot planets. I've found a lot of extremely rich ones!

it's already Oct of second year though, I hope I still have enough time to complete the quest.

I've found one rainbow world (Alpha Sext(something))... it advanced my tech a lot. Before this I was having difficulties finding enough biodata - they all seem to be on dangerous planets.

Now I've installed 3 storage bays and am going on after a mining spree. I'm going to get the homing weapon too.

I found the Orz home planet, and they this happy camper about the fun co-ordinates.

I was exploring the VUX space after talking to ZEX.

I'm still looking everywhere for hints of their whereabouts... I guess I'm going to find some when I talk to my allies on their home planet.
