Lack of sieges.
« on: September 12, 2009, 03:39:09 pm »

My population has been above 80 for quite some time (currently at 113, been above 80 for three or so years now). I've fought off lots of ambushes and goblin thieves yet I have yet to be sieged a single time. What are the elements of them, is there some randomness to it as well?

Any help appreciated.

I think fortress wealth influences sieges as well.

I have about a million dwarf bucks of created wealth, though my exported wealth is a tad low.

You're not the first, Skippy. In fact, this is one of the reasons the "Orc" mod and "Dig Deeper" mods were created.

According to the almighty wiki, yes, once you're above 80 dorfs and have plenty of wealth, you should see some sieges. It might take a while, though.

If all else fails, you can start killing human caravans and murdering their diplomats to incite a siege.

So there's that, as well. It looks like the only chronic problems that water can't cure are nausea and cave spider bites.
Which, coincidentally enough, can be cured by magma.
